A brilliant workshop lead by June on Sunday- a bit of painting, a bit of stitching, cake and natter. Perfect.
This promises to be a fun afternoon! Working with Shirley and Andi to create collage paintings using scissors, paper and glue.
Any way you want! You can create an image with paper just as you can with paint – you can add colour and texture using paper, magazines or photographs. You can add paint, charcoal, oil pastels – whatever you fancy – to bring out the textures or further develop your image. Of course it doesn’t have to be just paper – it could be scraps of fabric or dried leaves – anything as long as it can be stuck to paper.
The purpose of this workshop is to experiment and play with media you might not normally use and be open to possibilities. The results might inspire a painting, or simply encourage further experimentation.
Ticket price includes a selection of materials but bring any special finds you may have, photographs that inspire you, plus your favourite scissors. We’ll provide the tea, coffee and cake!

Shirley and Andi are both artists who have exhibited with Open Studios and regularly show their work in local exhibitions. You can see their work at shirleycarteyart.com and andimulholland.com.
Create multi-layered landscapes and coastal scenes with local artists Shirley Cartey and Andi Mulholland using collage and water-based media, pastels, charcoal and graphite. They will encourage you to develop an experimental approach to painting using a variety of materials with lots of demonstrations and one-to-one support.
The cost of the workshop is £35 (payable in advance) and includes a selection of materials, but bring any special finds you may have, as well as any photographs that inspire you. You might also like to bring a notebook to record your ideas plus scissors, glue and of course, creative energy!
Age: all adults, beginners upwards
