Job Title: Hub Facilities Manager

Salary: £13 per hour, paid monthly

Hours per week: 8 – 10

Location: Home working and at Hungerford Hub, Church Street, Hungerford, RG17 0JG.

About Hungerford Hub:

The charity Hungerford Library & Community Trust (Hungerford Hub) is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the library building; the Hub. The Hungerford Library Service continues to be run by West Berkshire Council. The charity is supported by our trustees and the Friends of Hungerford Library. Our remit, as well as maintaining the building, is to provide a community asset. This multifunctional space is hired out to various groups and individuals and this, along with support from Hungerford Town Council, grants and fundraising activities, provides our income stream.

About the role:

To manage the Hub’s facilities, we are looking for a responsible, enthusiastic, community minded individual who can benefit from the flexibility this role can offer. In 2021 we plan to build on our projects and events calendar to further realise our potential as a true community hub. The Facilities Manager will develop their role as project partner to the Hub Manager in exciting new endeavours.

Key responsibilities:

Supervising annual servicing contracts in liaison with Hungerford Town Council
Overseeing maintenance contractors on site as necessary
Supervising cleaning services
Overseeing Health and Safety within the Hub
Organising and co-ordinating volunteers and Hub team members for events within the Hub
Responsibility for organising spaces to accommodate events and with help, moving mobile shelving as necessary
Partnering with the Hub Manager to deliver events programmes and projects
Providing information for the accountant for monthly payroll

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft programmes
  • Flexible working including some evenings and weekends
  • Attend events when needed (shared with Hub Manager)

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety requirements
  • Experience of managing a small facility
  • Experience of working within a charity setting
  • Experience of project planning and execution
  • Own transport
  • Own computer
